Students offer views of love at Igwe's Love Jones event
The twenty performances showcased throughout the evening, part of the Love Jones event held last Thursday in the Locatelli Center, included poetry, singing, rappers, bands and musicians.
Mammoth of a find
Less than a month ago, local news stations buzzed with the discovery of Columbian Mammoth bones on a farm in Castroville, Calif. A team of students and researchers, including approximately a dozen Santa Clara faculty and students, originally thought that they had found the bones of an adult female and a child. Well, the official reports are in, and it turns out that the original hypothesis is not true.
Caltrain is staying
Caltrain introduced revisions to the service and fare changes last week that include retaining weekday service to the Santa Clara station as well as special event service such as baseball games.

Students fight to save Cal grants
With a possible 15 percent reduction in Federal Pell Grants and a 10-25 percent reduction in State Cal Grants, about $2 million in education funding across the nation may be in jeopardy. For Santa Clara in particular, it means that nearly 1400 students may be at risk of not affording college.
